Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Series 2: the family-friendly and efficient open

The Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Series 2 is one of the latest in outboard boats from Jeanneau. It was presented as a world premiere at the recent Düsseldorf and Paris boat shows. Completely redesigned, it displays both a sporty design and a family layout. These new assets, combined with the strengths of the previous generation, can achieve high performance and spend one or more nights on board.

Driving is a pleasure

Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Série 2Its sleek and sporty silhouette, produced by Sarrazin Design, seduces at first glance. The wraparound black windshield, very protective, accompanied by a stainless steel bow rail, really sets this model apart. The hull windows add yet another touch of elegance to the famous Michael Peters hull, which is common to all the Cap Camarat models.

This boat is available with outboard motors at 225, 250 or 300 horsepower. Top speeds begin at about 40 knots with the 225-horsepower motor.

It is very easy to maneuver. Its cockpit is firstly designed to navigate comfortably. The helm is equipped with electricCap Camarat 7.5 DC S2 controls, including a Yamaha throttle controller, a display screen for the engine gauges for the trim tabs and also the bow thruster, a very useful option, which greatly facilitates maneuvers in port. The dashboard is really a good size. It is equipped with a 9-inch Garmin display with plenty of room for additional equipment. A USB socket, just in front of the cup holder, allows, for example, recharging a mobile phone. In the starboard bulkhead next to the helm you have access to the battery switches.

This cockpit is designed for comfortable driving while seated, with good protection provided by the windshield. It is Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Série 2also possible to drive standing up, by raising the bolster equipped seat into a comfortable and ergonomic position, with the controllers’ right at hand. The co-pilot bench, meanwhile, is located near the kitchen area. It can be associated with a folding shelf allowing, for example, putting a portable gas stove. This space is complemented by a sink unit with glass holders, concealed by a panel, and an optional drawer refrigerator.

So, as with all the Day Cruiser models in the Cap Camarat line, it is Cap Camarat 7.5 DC S2possible to equip the boat with a full-size Bimini for maximum sun protection. It’s also possible to fit a soft top, which includes a roof and side panels for protection from the elements. One unique feature on the Day Cruiser is that the soft top neatly stows in the locker located under the aft bench. The operation is very simple, just move the backrest forward, open the locker, and then the entire structure folds down neatly.

For a control in all serenity, the Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Series 2 profits, in its external arrangement, many other spaces of arrangement. A large storage locker, located under the cockpit, provides access to the tank compartment, a storage area and all batteries and technical equipment. The second chest, placed under the sundeck, allows, thanks to its removable front to integrate an igloo cooler. A space dedicated to fenders has also been specially designed.

Clever layout for pleasant family outings

Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Série 2Access on board is very easy. It is done by the large rear platforms, on one level with the back beaches of the boat. The gate opens onto the vast cockpit. Getting out of the water is made easier by this handrail.

The big difference with previous models is the cockpit, though still well protected by the windshield. It is more open to the outside, to the aft and to swimming. The saloon was positioned to port to make movement around the cockpit as fluid as possible.

The cockpit saloon can be equipped with a teak table, making it a really welcoming living space.  It is also possible toCap Camarat 7.5 DC S2 replace the table with a support and cushion to make a really big sunbed, thus enlarging the relaxation area back.

The aft bench is a great place to sit, both underway and when it’s time to go swimming. That’s why Jeanneau has built a backrest that can face both forward, and aft. When facing aft it transforms the aft platform, with an additional cushion, into a large sunbed. Under this sunbed there is a large storage locker, equipped with a drain, so perfect for storing moorings.

Water sports enthusiasts can, optionally, add a ski arch or a wakeboard tower.

Three steps facilitate access to the foredeck. There is a central passage in teak and an open bow. This facilitatesCap Camarat 7.5 DC Série 2 coming aboard and disembarking over the bow. The foredeck can be completely covered with cushions to become a huge sunbed secured by the two bow rails.

The cabin is very bright and enjoys a beautiful view of the sea. It isCap Camarat 7.5 DC S2 accessed via a transparent sliding door. It has skylights, large deck glazing and large hull windows placed on each side of the double bed. Many storage spaces have been arranged. The large storage area, located aft under the deck, can also serve as an extra berth.

Cap Camarat 7.5 DC S2At the foot of the berth, there is a foldable cushion that extends the berth and, when folded down, facilitates access to the separate head. The gangway steps are removable and facilitate access to the rear storage area. The head compartment is located to starboard. It is equipped with a sink and a black water tank.

In conclusion the new Cap Camarat 7.5 DC Series 2 is a boat combining power, user-friendliness and safety. Its attractive design and versatility make it easy to contemplate family cruises of one or more days.
