The Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider is a new design for Jeanneau, even though the Cap Camarat line has had an open, center console version for several years. The line also includes the Walk Around version with a sundeck on the bow and a cabin below deck, and the Day Cruiser version with a protective windscreen.

Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider: ergonomic wheelhouse

Cap Camarat 6.5 BRA fourth design, the Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider, was recently added to the Cap Camarat line. The Bow Rider deck layout has existed for many years on American boats. This Jeanneau design is unique though, as the deck layout has been adapted to a hull designed for use at sea, not merely for use on flat water such as lakes, and has a self draining cockpit.

The hull is, after all, exactly the same as the 6.5 CC and 6.5 Walk Around. It is a hull with proven performance, renowned for its sea worthiness and compatibility with a wide variety of engines from 130 to 200 hp.

The Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider is interesting as it is the result of influences form different American and Scandinavian designs. Though users needs are indeed diverse, the boat is suited for everyone, as a summer boat for the whole family, whatever activity you’re interested in.

Jeanneau has paid particular attention to driving ergonomics. Though it’s possible to drive in the bolster seat, in aCap Camarat 6.5 BR comfortable seated position, protected from the wind by the windshield, it’s also possible to drive standing up, as you would at sea, so the steering wheel, along with the throttle are positioned a little higher than if they were designed only for use while seated. The wraparound windshield protects each of the two consoles, each with a bolster seat. There are large, deep storage lockers in both consoles, with adapted fender storage to starboard.

Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider: ingenious and user-friendly

Cap Camarat 6.5 BRMovement on board is excellent from the aft cockpit and the forward cockpit, with a very wide passage between the two consoles. In the forward cockpit it is possible to set up a table, which can also be set up aft. It is also possible to transform the forward and aft cockpits into sun beds. The aft sun bed is composed of two optional boxes that serve as seats and storage but are not required. But the two boxes serve as the support to set up the sun deck. This board simply folds out to rest on the support tube between the two boxes, and the sun deck is set up.

Also to aft, there is a unique feature, the backrest is built with a lockingCap Camarat 6.5 BR system and hinge. The backrest folds down to open a storage space for the bimini or soft top. The advantage of the Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider, with the wrap around windshield, is the ability to install the soft top rapidly and protect the family in case the weather deteriorates. You’ll also notice the hinged backrest which gives easy access aft, with the two large standard platforms. There is a storage locker in the port platform. There are optional extended platforms that increase the living area on the boat and open it further aft to swimming activities. It is also possible to install a wake board tower. This option opens up plenty of other boating activities. But the wake board tower is obviously not compatible with the bimini or soft top. However, when the wake board tower is installed, there are several options for protection from the sun on the market.

This boat’s strongest suit is its versatility. This is a real alternative to a center console or open boat because there are two cockpits, better movement on board and better protection for the family. The Cap Camarat 6.5 Bow Rider is the perfect family boat.
