Swift Trawler 35: born on the high seas

The Swift Trawler 35 is the seventh model in the Swift Trawler line built by Beneteau. This line revolutionizes the Trawler world by bringing it speed. It maintains all of the Trawler market principles including conviviality and family oriented travel. It was a big challenge to design the Swift Trawler 35 because the Swift Trawler 34 was the line’s bestseller in addition to being the market leader in the Trawler segment.

To meet this challenge, the Swift Trawler 35 adopted all the advantages of the Swift Trawler 34, as well as the evolutions and innovations from the Swift Trawler 30.

Swift Trawler 35: Easy maneuvering and performances

Swift Trawler 35The main revolution on the Swift Trawler 35 is firstly its hull designed by Beneteau Power, the Beneteau naval architecture division. We wanted to bring more stability to the boat on a semi-planing hull. So, we widened the chines and lengthened the steps to the bow of the boat. The hull deflects better and is much more comfortable when underway. In addition, the single 425 horsepower Cummins engine with shaft drive and 800 liters tank will make this boat among the best in terms of fuel efficiency.

The characteristics of this Swift Trawler 35 are a hull length of 10.89 m overall length is 11,29 m, then the beam of 3.96 m, a fuel tank with a capacity of 800 liters and finally twin 150-liter water tanks.

For more safety the deck layout is asymmetrical. The starboard gangway is very wide at about 37 cm. The bulwarksSwift Trawler 35 on the deck and on the flybridge are above the standard height (between 78 and 80 cm). A gangway door makes for easy access to the dock. The door between the cockpit and the side deck provides better maneuvering visibility and easier movement on board. All over the boat you will find hand rails to hold on to while underway.

The mast was replaced by an arch which is standard equipment. This arch can accommodate all the boat’s electronics. The flybridge deck is flush and the space aft can accommodate two chairs.

Swift Trawler 35The flybridge is a very convivial space, which is why we paid particular attention to the layout with the U-shaped bench, a pilot seat that rotates 360 ° and the teak table. On the flybridge optional equipment includes a drawer fridge, a Bimini or a soft-top.

The cockpit of the Swift Trawler 35 is a large living-space with an Swift Trawler 35entirely flush deck and includes an innovation introduced by the Swift Trawler 30, the standard open transom. Every element on this boat has been designed to optimize space for life on board, like the flybridge ladder that slides up to the bay window.

The shaft drive leaves the cockpit with ample storage space. Offered as an option for tender storage, there are Besenzoni telescopic davits.

The cockpit space can be a fully enclosed, by this flybridge or the optional rear cockpit enclosure, specially developed by Beneteau. Standard equipment includes a side deck door which also provides shelter from the wind.

Swift Trawler 35: Cosy and friendly space

Swift Trawler 35The wheelhouse of the Swift Trawler 35 has full height glass windows for better visibility and a 360 ° view. This model is offered in a two cabin, one head layout. With the convertible wheelhouse sofa, there are two further berths. The table is removable. So it can easily be taken out of the cockpit to make room for the convertible berth. Port side storage is improved by the asymmetrical starboard gangway.

Optimizing storage was an important goal on this boat which is why the Swift Trawler 35air conditioning system is now found in the hull. The U-shaped galley is very functional and just right for Trawler customers. Special attention was paid to detail. The galley benefits from the new teak woodwork for the Swift Trawler line. When in place, this removable cushion provides a forward-facing seat for a third person. When the cushion is not in use, it doubles as worktop.

Swift Trawler 35The cockpit has been designed to adapt to every pilots’ taste. It includes a bolster seat, which is also adjustable, and a footrest. This helm station has all the necessary electronic equipment including autopilot and the two thrusters. The bow thruster is standard as well as the flaps.

Trawler owners can open the hinged console for direct access to the electronics.

To the port side there is a guest cabin with bunk beds and to starboard, the head, with a separate shower. Forward isSwift Trawler 35 the owner’s cabin. The owner’s cabin is bathed in natural light thanks to its two portholes and large hull windows. They are also combined with a deck hatch for even better ventilation. The cabin is built with two steps on each side for easy access to the large island berth. The wardrobes have louvered doors for better ventilation. There is also a large storage space under the owner’s double berth.

In conclusion, the Swift Trawler 35 is the perfect traveling companion. It expresses all of the line’s fundamentals, such as ergonomics, safety, and life on board. It also integrates all the latest innovations.

Gran Turismo 50: The sport cruiser for exciting adventures

The Gran Turismo 50 is the flagship in the Beneteau Gran Turismo line. This line is the Express Cruiser or Sport Cruiser line. They are boats with a sleek, sporty style that offer high performance, fun and sporty handling, and most importantly a layout design turned to life outside and on-board conviviality.

Gran Turismo 50: Harmony between interior and exterior

Gran Turismo 50The Gran Turismo 50 comes in two versions: firstly, a more traditional Hardtop version with a large sunroof, then a Sportfly version that offers all the amenities of a flybridge including a cockpit and a sun-lounger, while maintaining the very sleek and sporty lines. The Gran Turismo 50 is also a true technology showcase. First of all, the Air Step technology, Air Step 2: Beneteau owns the patents to this exceptional and uniquely comfortable hull. The second technology is an innovation being launched by the Beneteau group which premiers here, on the Gran Turismo 50. Ship Control is a fun, playful and intuitive interface which makes using the boat much simpler and more accessible for amateur sailors.

The Gran Turismo 50 is the third generation of elegant, sporty designs in the GT line. Developed by the very famous italian design studio Nuvolari and Lenard. And finally, the Gran Turismo 50 has an absolutely unique layout concept that is called « Full Space » and offers incomparable light and conviviality.Gran Turismo 50

The Gran Turismo 50’s huge bathing platform has several key features. First of all, the optional aft galley, equipped with a grill and a worktop. The second is of course the optional hydraulic platform. The platform descends to below the waterline and can store a jet-ski or a tender up to a maximum of 350 kilos. Above all, it makes swimming even more enjoyable. Finally, the last feature is the tender garage that can store a Williams Minijet 280, or any semi-rigid tender of up to 2 meters 90 in length while inflated and with the engine mounted.

A bimini is available as an option to protect the entire fly-bridge from the sun. The Sportfly Gran Turismo 50 is really a welcoming, comfortable space that offers all the desired features on a flybridge, but remains perfectly integrated with the sporty line of the Gran Turismo 50.

On the fore decks, there is a huge sun-lounger with adjustable backrests for more comfort.

Gran Turismo 50The Gran Turismo 50’s cockpit offers an exceptional seating area with this large L-shaped bench that continues to the inside of the boat on the same level. You see the continuous teak floor right through to the saloon. The bay windows slide completely to starboard. A small cushion makes the connection between the two seats. This creates an absolutely incredible and welcoming space. Fifteen people can gather around the two large tables and share the most beautiful moments together.

The teak cockpit table can be lowered and transformed into a large sun-lounger with an additional cushion.

On the Hardtop version, the cockpit can be protected by a telescopic bimini that covers the entire cockpit.Gran Turismo 50

On the Sportfly version, a canvas extends the flybridge to cover and protect the cockpit. There is also an optional enclosure that completely closes the cockpit to offer an additional living space.

The bay window can be used in two ways. First the center panel slides to starboard for direct access to the interior and easy ventilation. Second, the other panels slide to starboard and make room for the large seating area, which connects the outside and the inside.

Gran Turismo 50: Light and space for more enjoyment

Gran Turismo 50The interior saloon has exceptional panoramic visibility. It also has very good ventilation as each of the two large windows fully opens as well as the sunroof on the Hardtop version. The interior saloon is both very comfortable and functional. It offers a large seating area with bench seats facing each-other, organized around a beautiful table, while also allowing for easy access up to the helm station.

The cabinet to starboard at the entrance is directly accessible from theGran Turismo 50 outside and the inside can be equipped with an Ice Maker or a larger fridge for even more comfort and convenience. The table can be set up in two ways, as a dining table or a coffee table. TV is positioned behind the pilot seat to make it visible from the outside. The cockpit is located to starboard. All the controls are positioned around the steering wheel. The throttle is located to port of the helm, which makes room for a person to sit next to the pilot. The Joystick is located in the center of the boat. This improves visibility and facilitates maneuvers in port.

Gran Turismo 50All controls are available on the navigation screen and in particular on the Ship Control interface. It centralizes all the main functions, which includes lighting controls, air conditioning, main navigation data, audio control by zone, level indicators for the service and house batteries, the motor, fluid level indicators including water and fuel. The on-board power source management page presents a choice between dock power, the generator or when necessary, the converter. It’s also possible to verify the bilge pumps. And finally, there is the motor instrumentation including GPS, speed and the other navigational information necessary for motor cruising. There are a few shortcuts that bring up the navigation lights, the underwater lights, the horn and even windlass management.

All these functions are also adjustable via switches on either side of the screen. All the Ship Control functions are available on the owner’s tablet.

The cockpit has great ventilation thanks to the huge sunroof and the porthole that is directly forward of the pilot.

Gran Turismo 50The galley is located a few steps from the saloon. There is a very large worktop and many very clever storage spaces. The full height refrigerator is conveniently located close to the companionway for easy access from the rest of the boat. Other optional equipment includes a dishwasher and a freezer.

The Gran Turismo 50 is available in two versions, with two or three cabins. In the two-cabin version there is a saloon below decks facing the galley. In the three-cabin version this space is partitioned off and has two beds that can be joined to make one. The rest of the layout is similar for both versions.

Gran Turismo 50Access to the owner’s cabin is at the center of the boat. This is where there is the greatest headroom. The entrance height gives a sense of volume and perspective to the owner’s cabin.

We find this ample 1.85 meters of headroom on either side of the berth. The cabin takes up the entire beam of the boat. It is filled with a beautiful natural light thanks to two large panoramic windows located on each side of the berth. It has a large wardrobe with a full length mirror, six storage lockers which are located under these two mattresses on either side of the berth, and the berth lifts for access to three more lockers to store suitcases.

Gran Turismo 50The wood trim finish is a matte walnut. Nuvolari and Lenard Design Studio worked on an ensemble of textures: velvet, leather and silk textures for a finish that is both modern and very cozy. The private owner’s head is partially open to the cabin, giving it a better feeling of volume. Toilet and shower are separate.

Gran Turismo 50Each cabin has a control screen to adjust lighting, audio and air conditioning. In addition to these numerous storage spaces, the VIP cabin has its own access to the forward head. The double berth is actually a scissor bed that separates into two single berths.

Under the companionway there is direct access to the optional washing machine, the central vacuum, storage and especially the electrical panel that brings together all the boat’s electrical functions.

Sleek styling, technology, innovation, performance and conviviality are the words that describe the Gran Turismo 50 Hardtop and Sportfly.

Oceanis 51.1: The cruising yacht new generation

The Oceanis 51.1 is the first model in the Oceanis line’s seventh generation. This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of this line. We created this new boat leveraging all our experience. This boat was developed with three main principles. First of all « Smart », for the elegant and ingeniously designed boat, then, of course, « Comfort » as this is a cruising boat and finally « Fast » because we wanted to offer a proper fast cruiser.

Oceanis 51.1: A new hull for new layouts

Oceanis 51.1The Oceanis line is firstly dedicated to cruising. So we spent a lot of time designing the cockpit and platform for easy access to the sea. The very large swim platform can be lowered and raised with an electric actuator. There is a very comfortable and solid bathing ladder.

Concerning dingy storage, instead of compromising the interior and reducing the size of the rear cabins, we opted for easy to use, retractable davits. We redesign the cockpit layout to offer you even more comfort. There are no longer areas with winches and seats close together. We moved everything to do with maneuvering, the halyards, sheets and winches to aft at the helm stations. So the deck layout is all about safety. Young children can be protected under the Bimini, at the front of the cockpit. Everything to do with maneuvering, anything that might be a bit dangerous, like winches for example, are located in one place. It is also an ideal deck layout for people who want to sail alone or shorthanded. We have the electronics on the console and all the winches right at hand.

In the middle of the cockpit there is a very large dining table that can easily accommodate six to eight people. There

Oceanis 51.1

is a 30-liter fridge forward, several cup-holders and a compass to aft for navigation. Finally, at the front of the cockpit, there are two very comfortable sunbathing areas, with an easy to use backrest. Storage volume is something very important on a cruising boat. So we decided to create dedicated storage for the life raft in the cockpit table. This frees up all the other storage lockers for your equipment. There are very deep lockers under the seats to both starboard and port, line storage bags on each side of the cockpit, and to aft a very large locker for storing fenders and mooring lines with access through the starboard helm seat and also through a very large, central deck hatch.

Oceanis 51.1There are large side decks with toe rails molded into the deck that serve as good footing. Lifelines are high and easy to grab. And finally, to facilitate the passage forward we decided to place the lower diagonal shroud on the inside of the side deck, while keeping the cap shroud to the outside for rigging stability. This new generation of hulls is really beneficial for interior space but also improves the deck area as well. It is possible, on the fore deck, to bring the loungers forward to sun bath. It becomes yet another space for relaxation.

The bowsprit – anchor integration is beautifully done. Forward, there is a tack for the spinnaker, then one for theOceanis 51.1 code zero, and finally, just aft, the furling Genoa. The code zero tack point is sufficiently forward to be able to keep the code zero set, even when sailing under Genoa. A little aft, we find a very deep anchor well to avoid a tangled chain, and finally a very large sail locker. Though there is already an asymmetric spinnaker, a code zero and a stay sail in the locker, there is still plenty of storage space for a dingy, paddles or fenders. This sail locker can also be fitted as a skippers’ cabin with a two-meter long transverse berth. With of course a toilet and sink.

For this new generation of Oceanis, Olivier Racoupeau, our naval architect, has created five different rigging designs to meet the needs of various owners. Here we have the Carbon mast with the canoe boom. It is a taller, high performance mast that comes with the First Line package that also incorporates high end deck hardware and winches. The standard rigging includes a furling mast and a self-tacking jib. This configuration requires only one winch per helm station. So it makes sailing extremely simple.

Oceanis 51.1: Light and space

Oceanis 51.1The Oceanis 51.1. is a cruising boat, so we kept the gently sloping companionway, with a handrail on each side. The interior is very bright, with large hull portholes, but also many deck hatches and many openings for good ventilation. This version has three cabins and two bathrooms, with an owner’s cabin forward, two guest cabins aft and a bathroom to starboard. There is also a version with three cabins and three bathrooms, with a private bathroom for each aft cabin. Concerning trim choices, the interior is finished in brushed oak or in a dark mahogany. We also have a wide selection of bulkhead linings and interior upholstery.

The galley is ideal to use at sea. There are Corian fiddles and hand rails so one can stand securely when heeled over.Oceanis 51.1 The galley is also very easy to use when at anchor, with large counter-tops accessible from both sides. So, it is possible for two or three people to work at the counter at the same time. In terms of household equipment, you have all the comforts of home, with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, wine cellar and several refrigerators. There is a lot of storage, in the upper and lower cabinets, a cutlery drawer and other storage spaces below.

Oceanis 51.1The Oceanis 51.1 is above all a boat built for conviviality. So we opted for a very large salon table that can easily accommodate six people. This table is also extensible, which allows for the use of the port side couch, to sit up to ten people around the table. It is also possible to lower the table to create a double berth or a large lounging space. The chart table faces forward and is very comfortable to use at sea, with this very comfortable armrest. But it also turns out to be a very nice place to rest at the end of the day.

The owner’s cabin is worthy of a 60 feet boat. The bed is 1 meter 60 wide and 2 meters 05 long, with walk aroundOceanis 51.1 access on each side. There is even a very comfortable seat to be able to untie one’s shoes for example, or put one’s shoes on or to set your clothing on at the end of the day. You’ll find numerous cubby holes in the bedside table, a 220 volt and a USB socket as well. There are also many cupboards above, a wardrobe with indirect lighting and curtains that effectively block all outside light.

There is a large drawer under the bed with even more storage forward, for travel bags or linens, for example. On the rear bulkhead, there is a large mirror, with a tray for your phone or sunglasses and finally, shoe storage. To starboard there is the shower cabin, with a separate wash room. It’s a beautiful space with a seat and also storage for your towels. On the port side, the head is once again a very bright space, with a sink and toilet made with quality materials like the Corian counter-top.

Oceanis 51.1Aft of the companionway, there are two very nice cabins that are ideal for welcoming your guests. They have berths that are 1 meter 60 by 2 meters 10 in length, with enough ceiling height to have the headboard aft, which saves your guests from having their pillows fall to the floor. They are very luminous cabins with numerous portholes. The cabins are also well ventilated thanks to the hatches. 220 volt and USB sockets are located at the headboard. There are many storage spaces along the hull and two wardrobes to the front of the cabin. To starboard there is a veryOceanis 51.1 nice wash room with a separate shower stall. There is access via the lounge or directly from the starboard aft cabin.

Considerable time was spent on the technical design of the boat to allow easy service access to everything to do with valves or electrical panels. In the engine compartment we have the 110-horsepower propeller shaft engine. Look at all the space there is around the engine to perform maintenance. It is an ideal workspace. There is also the possibility to access the rear of the engine through both aft cabin. The standard version includes an 80-horsepower engine with a Saildrive, there is also the option of an 80 horsepower Dock & Go.
